The brief
A medical education company wanted an app that teaches people to read ECGs, on both iPhone and Android. The heart of it is the ECG itself: it has to be generated, not just played back from images, and it has to look and behave the same on both platforms.
I worked as an independent contractor for Marco Cebrián Muiño and Francisco Javier Miana, remotely from Mumbai.
What I did
- One engine, written once. I wrote a new proprietary ECG engine in C++ from scratch. It runs as a single shared core on both iOS and Android, so a fix or a new rhythm lands on both at the same time.
- Real native apps around it. The apps themselves are native: Swift on iOS and Kotlin on Android. They cover three modules, Simulate, Practice and Learn.
- Two languages. The apps are in English and Spanish and pick the right one from the device language.
- Getting it out the door. I prepared the App Store and Google Play publication assets and built the product’s landing site.
